GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is European legislation that came into force on May 25, 2018. It establishes rules regarding the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data.

GDPR applies to all companies that process personal data of EU citizens, regardless of the company's location. Its main purpose is to give citizens control over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business.

GDPR Principles

Personal data processing is based on the following fundamental principles:

Lawfulness, fairness and transparency: Data must be processed lawfully, fairly and transparently in relation to the data subject
Purpose limitation: Data is collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes
Data minimisation: Data processed is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary
Accuracy: Data is accurate and up to date
Storage limitation: Data is kept only as long as necessary
Integrity and confidentiality: Data is processed in a manner that ensures adequate security
Accountability: The controller is responsible and can demonstrate compliance

Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

1. Right of access

You have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed, and if so, access to that data.

2. Right to rectification

You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you without undue delay.

3. Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

You have the right to obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you in certain circumstances provided by law.

4. Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to obtain restriction of processing in certain cases provided by legislation.

5. Right to data portability

You have the right to receive personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

6. Right to object

Aveți dreptul de a vă opune prelucrării datelor personale care vă privesc, inclusiv creării de profiluri.

7. Dreptul de a nu face obiectul unei decizii automatizate

Aveți dreptul de a nu face obiectul unei decizii bazate exclusiv pe prelucrarea automată, inclusiv crearea de profiluri.

8. Dreptul de a depune o plângere

Aveți dreptul de a depune o plângere la Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal.
